My inspiration for painting, "Illuminations" came from the graceful curvatures and scrolling patterns in the center medallion of Persian rugs, as well as the light that comes through the geometric etchings on chandelier crystals. The Process for making these images was similar to Rorschach inkblots. I applied milky colored white paint on one side of a grey folded paper, pressed and reopened to find symmetry within fantastical biomorphic configurations. I repeated this process multiple times while  building up the forms with delicate stains and  linear lines, which then manifested itself into layers of depth within a picture quilt of ghostly patterns.
